Dear Abigail Jahn,

Girlfriend, we had a full day! From the time we got up this morning to the time your daddy and I put you down tonight it was non stop all day long!

  • We ate breakfast, we both had waffles and milk (you also had half a banana) and we chit chatted while we ate.

  • We got dressed and walked the pine hall loop, we sang and sang and you ate your ice that I had chopped up before we left, you LOVE ice. We saw Ms. Betty and Mr. Jimmy Stewart's horse, you wanted to pet him soooo bad and you also told me you wanted to give him a hug.

  • We got home, put our bathing suits on and went swimming in Mo & Barb's (neighbors) pool for about an hour.

  • We came home, I made sandwich's for you and Layla and we headed to Port Fun where we met Stace and Layla. Amy, John Stephen, Leslie, Allie, and Thomas were there too. It was the perfect day for the "park" as you call it, the wind was blowing and there was no humidity. You had a ball playing with all the children.

  • We came home and you took a nap. Mom & I.T. came over after I.T.'s dentist appointment and babysat you and Layla while I went to the YMCA to do my leg excerise's.

  • We then went to the Sandpiper to pick up the flower arrangements from Stace's shower, I left them there for the customer's to enjoy for a few days. The owner told me if I was interested she would like for me to make arrangements for a few parties she has coming up. I need to think about that one. Thanks to Aunt Kathy for the brilliant idea and for letting us use the peas!
Here are few pictures from Stace's shower...My wonderful husband suprised me with a digital Nikon for my birthday so these are my first pictures using it. Enjoy!

a little bit of this and a little bit of that!

I took Abby to bible school with me today and she LOVED it. She sang and danced with the children and was just full of herself all day long. I can't wait until next year as she will be old enough to participate. We ran some errands afterwards and then came home, had lunch and Abby took a nap. I decided to try on a dress that I'm wearing to Stace's shower on saturday and realized it was too big. I called Sarah Fary (my seamstress) and told her I had an emergency alteration. HA!! Is there really such a thing!?! :) It was 2:22 and she said I'm leaving at 3:00, she had a sushi date with her son. I woke Abigail up from her nap (I still can't believe I did that) and we were Gloucester bound. I had to take it today because there is no time in the next two days, they are slam packed. We then decided to go to Wal-mart and get some groceries. We bought Toll House chocolate chip cookies and baked them tonight. What a treat for the three of us! Abby was great all afternoon and into the evening, so maybe an hour nap is all she needs anyway! :) Have a happy thursday!

Sunset cruise on the East River

There are not enough hours in the day. As always we had a busy weekend and this week is even busier. I'm director of music for vacation bible school this year and it started yesterday. I've been working on learning the lyrics and motions of the songs for several weeks now. In just two days of instruction my children have learned the lyrics and most of the motions to the songs. Their brains are like sponges, it's amazing to me. We have close to 50 children this year and each one is precious and special in their own way.

We had a great weekend. Our friends Karen, Rob and Shane treated Robert, Abby and I to a relaxing sunset cruise on friday evening. We packed up food and drinks and cruised around the river. It was a perfect evening filled with smiles and laughter. :)

This last picture is from yesterday afternoon. Tasha did a double french braid on Abby's hair and I LOVED IT!! She looked so cute and I can't wait for my lesson on how to french braid from "Tash" as Abby calls her.

bathing beauty

Today was the first day in several days that Abigail didn't go to the pool although she still managed to put her bathing suit on. She had to get on her "horsey" this afternoon which nearly gives me a heart attack every time she does because she is wild and rides it like a mechanical bull. OH ME! :)

She and I went to Newport News this morning to get some decorations for Stacie's shower next weekend. I'm in charge of the flowers and I am so excited about the arrangements I am going to make, I'll definitely take pictures to share with you.
Good night!

Mojito's, sunshine, laughter

With alittle sun and sand mixed in! Les and I spent a few days in my favorite place on this earth, Nags Head, NC! We left early saturday morning, got to Nags Head just in time for lunch at Tortugas Lie (we had the best softshell crab sandwich in the world) and by 1:30 we were on the beach soaking up the rays and catching up on life.

We even got to witness a beach wedding that took place literally 20 feet from our beach chairs. It was beautiful and brought tears to my eyes, I'm certain it was a second marriage. There was an older couple sitting across from us and they decided to take pictures of us so we smiled not knowing where exactly those photo's may show up. Things like that always seem to happen to Les & I! We ate, shopped at our favorite spots, the Gap, JCrew & Polo and stayed cool in the pool. It was a wonderful weekend but I was happy to come home to two smiling faces.

I have had a couple of tragic events happen to two of the most important men in my life, well besides my dad and Robert, in the past two weeks. My brother's Ron & Robbie are both going through some very difficult times, both very different yet the same. They both hold a place in my heart that no one or nothing else can fill. I pray to God that one day they will be free of the demons they fight. Until then I pray for peace for my family and strength for us all to carry on.

MELT DOWN CITY!

Abby didn't get a nap today so after running under the water hose while I watered the garden and flowers this afternoon she was soaked and just plain tired. We went inside to change and she had a complete meltdown. We sat on the couch before dinner and little to my suprise she fell fast asleep on my lap. She like her mother does not like to miss a thing so this was a first for us!! : )

Memorial Day Fun!

Our weekend revolved around the beach, the pool, family, friends and Grandaddy Jerry's annual Memorial Day breakfast. That was the only thing I managed to capture pictures of last weekend. The beach and pool are slightly different this year than last. The days of sitting Abby in a float are OVER! I felt like I was constantly saying, "No running Abby, Don't eat the grape after it fell in the sand Abby, Don't get too close to the edge of the pool littly missy" and so on!! Therefore, I didn't have much camera time! Nonetheless it was a wonderful weekend!
