time does not stand still

Robert & I went to a Gala at the Virginia Fine Arts Museum in Richmond on Saturday night. It was a benefit for ASK which is an organization at MCV hospital that provides support for families that are going through childhood cancer. It was so wonderful being with Les and Scott and it was yet another amazing celebration of Tucker's life. We also had the honor of meeting some of Tucker's doctor's and caregivers. After the gala we made our way to another fine establishment in downtown Richmond, The Paper Moon. For those of you who live around here you know what that is and if not then we'll leave it at that! We spent the night at the Armstrong household and enjoyed a delicious breakfast on Sunday morning with Les, Scott, Mckenzie, Joe and Bev. Afterwards we made our way back to Mathews and picked up a certain little someone from Granddaddy Jerry's and Auntie's. We were a happy mommy and daddy to get hugs and kisses from this precious little girl when we got home. I love you Abigail!

We all rode in this limo bus to the Gala

Robert jumped right in and started making drinks!

Precious Tucker.

We went to Norfolk last night to celebrate Thomas' 1st birthday. They were heading back to Dubai tonight so we celebrated early! Happy Birthday Little T!

time out

So, you know how yesterdays post was all smiles and sunshines and how Abigail is so sweet and gentle!! Well little missy, you gave your mama a run for her money today.

This morning was a complete disaster here, I'm pretty sure Abigail woke up on the wrong side of the bed. She smacked me a few times and hit her head on the floor which is something she does out of frustration. She found markers without me looking and was orange and green from head to toe in two seconds. She didn't want to get dressed yet once I finally got clothes on her it wasn't ten minutes later and she was naked again. I put her in time out several times but she loves time out these days, I think she only cried once while being in it today. For the most part she sings (really loud) and smiles like she's on vacation. Each time right before it was time for her to get out I would sit and talk to her explaining why she was there and what she needs to work on. She would say okay mama, sorry! I am exhausted!

We did manage to make Halloween cupcakes and she was a good helper in the kitchen. She took a great nap this afternoon and my happy go lucky little girl was almost back this evening. Tomorrow is a new day....thank goodness :)

Time for some much needed rest...good night! xxoo

I La You Mama

There are no four words I would rather hear than that! I layed Abigail down in her crib tonight and before I even got to the door she whispered I la you mama, I whispered it back, closed the door and smiled as I walked down the hallway. She is such a gentle little girl (most of the time) and I often wonder how I was chosen to be her mother, I am so incredibly blessed.

We had a weekend full of fun! Friday night we grilled hamburgers and just had a nice relaxing family night at home. Saturday we had breakfast at Jerry's and that was delicious as always. Jahn's college roommate Lynn and her husband Ned usually visit once a year so it was great to be able to spend time with them. After Abigail was born Lynn knitted her the most beautiful sweater and I will forever treasure it. Jahn and Lynn were the best of friends and I love to hear Lynn tell stories of their friendship. Ned is hysterical and we laughed until we cried. It was blowing a gale yesterday morning as there were white caps on the bay. Abigail had to swing on the swing set so we bundled up and swung for a bit and then she wanted to walk down to the water, so we did!

After breakfast Abigail and I ventured to the pumpkin patch to do some face painting with Nan's Earth Angel's. The patch was booming so I'm anxious to see what we brought in donation wise. I feel like we did pretty good! As always it was fun being with the girls!

Today was Homecoming at church and it was such a nice service. It was great catching up with some people I had not seen in awhile. There was a lunch afterwards and let me just tell you that the women at Salem can COOK!!! Everything was wonderful especially the chocolate cake Abby and I shared for dessert!

G'night! xoxo

Cousins

Landon had off from school today so Mama and I took he and Abigail to McDonald's for lunch and then to Airheads in Gloucester. It was our first time there and they both seemed to love it. Landon ran into a classmate so he played a lot of air hockey and Abigail just jumped and jumped her little heart out. They shared an ice cream break too! They love each other so much, the closer we got home all Landon kept saying was that he wanted to stay at our house with Abby and all Abby wanted to do was to leave and go with him to Mimi & Popz' house. We had such a fun day! XOXO

TEN TEN TEN

10-10-10!

We had a great weekend with all kinds of busyness! Friday night I went to my first Stella Dot party and can I just say I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE! I think I tried on every piece of jewelry there and loved every one. It turns out that the sweet stylist (that's what they call the reps in Stella world) Jodie thinks I would make a good rep. She gave me a package to read through and there were alot of great incentives but I don't think that's in the cards for me right now. I think it would be fun but very time consuming and that I don't have alot of these days.

Saturday Robert, mama, mom and I took Abigail to see Sesame Street at the Ted Constant Center at ODU. The first part of the show Abby sat in mom's arms very calm and just sort of took it all in. The second part of the show this little girl came to life and was dancing and very much into it. She loved it, just like I thought she would. We had lunch at Dumar's and as always that was fun. How can you go there and not leave without a smile on your face and a chocolate shake to go! :) We stopped by KK's on our way home to take her a few "pick me ups" since she cut her hand earlier in the day and had to get three stitches. We had a great evening at home and Abby loved that she got to see Landon for awhile. We also enjoyed some steamed crabs that Roland caught in his crabpot, what a treat!

Today we had church and then a lazy afternoon at home. Abby napped, Robert watched the Skins play (they won, woo hoo) and I did some cleaning and alittle resting myself. When Abby woke from her nap we dressed her in her Halloween costume and took some pictures for our annual Halloween card. She's one cute little kitty cat!! After our photo shoot :) we did alittle of this!

the croup, a snake and cleaning the oven

So, are you wondering what in the world all three of these have in common! Let's just say a day at the Ramsey household is never a dull moment.

Abigail woke up after only being down for less than hour for her afternoon nap gasping for air, it was my scariest moment yet in her two years of living. I didn't know if she was choking or having some sort of attack, all I know is that my heart nearly stopped. I took her to the doctor to find out that she indeed does have the croup. Mer, I definitely can identify now with what you all went through with Nicky a month ago. What a scary time. Thank goodness daddy got here in a split second so he was with us and sat in the back seat with Abby while I drove us to Gloucester. I definitely think I could get a gig with the local ambulance service :)!

So we got home and got all situated..let me just paint you a visual..Abigail's on the couch watching cartoon's, I'm running around trying to finish up the thousand projects I had started prior to Abby getting sick and was getting ready to walk outside to adjust the flag b/c it was caught up in the pole and what do I see on the front porch but a SNAKE!!! I despise snakes, the mere sight of them make me quiver all over. I grabbed my camera and took a picture so that we could later indentify what kind it was and I was afraid it would get away and we would never know what was lingering around out there. Robert got home and tried killing it but the darn thing slithered down beneath the porch. Let's just say I will be very vigilant for quite some time when walking out the front door.
And now I'm cleaning the oven! I usually do this before the holiday season but decided it needed it alittle early this year. That's just one less thing I'll have to do before I start my holiday cooking! Unless, I make homemade fries again and the oil and spices seep over onto the oven floor. Oppsy daisey :)

here comes the sun, da da da

We have had rain filled days for going on a week now. I love rain and and all that comes along with it but I must say it's going to be so nice to see some sunshine!

We had a wonderfully busy weekend and then started our week off with a bang! Friday we had dinner at my old stomping grounds, Linda's Diner. We then ventured to our friends house where we roasted marshmallow's and made smores!! It was a starry night with the moon reflecting on the bay. There was a bit of a chill in the air so standing around the camp fire gave me the warm fuzzies and alittle nostalgia. It brough back memories of my camping days many moons ago!

Saturday Abby, mama and I went to Elaine's baby shower. It was so much fun watching her open all of her gifts and to see the excitement and joy this unborn baby is already bringing her. She is just glowing and one of those pregnant girls you just want to smack :), she's stunning, simply stunning.

Saturday night Robert and I cooked dinner and watched a movie. We made popcorn and got all cozy on the couch. And within 20 mins. I was out like a light, so much for date night at home.

Sunday we went to church and then Abby and I visited Mom and I.T. Stace and Michael Alexander came over too, what a fun afternoon! Abby took her keyboard from mama and daddy's over to mom and I.T.'s and danced & sang her little heart out. She's so funny when she dances, she puts one finger up in the air, sways back and forth and shakes her little booty! Priceless!

Today Catelyn, Callie, Abigail and I went consignment shopping. I sort of compare consignment shopping to a treasure hunt, you just never know what your going to find but nine times out of ten it's something really GrEaT! We had a such a fun day and we both had some great finds!! We enjoyed lunch at Chick Fil A and I really think the girls enjoyed being together.

XOXO - rhr
